We have been viewing the advertisement of LAVA smart phone on television for last one year. Still the company is not investing more on its new advertisement rather it is relying upon the effectiveness of the existing ad.


A young boy and a girl talking in a girl's house , suddenly doorbell .They saw girl's father ,from door hole, ringing door bell. Boyfriend  just hide behind the door. Father asked his girl if there was somebody and girl said no ,suddenly the phone rang and the couple was about to be caught doing romance but the father just looked at phone in the hands of boy. Father forgets the boy and starts to ask about LAVA mobile and girl starts to tell the feature of phone and he was so engrossed and impressed with feature that he forgets that his daughter was making him Champak. Father reacts happily in such a way that its hard to believe such features in a low cost smart phone.


Objective of advertisement is , the phone is loved by striplings and middle aged people. The features and look of the mobile are so good that anybody can be captivated.  LAVA phones are not very costly phone and advertisement talks about features of high phones within a few thousands. Anybody who wants to play with smart phone but not costly they may opt for LAVA Iris atom 2.

Front Page Jewellery advertisements on Sanmarg Kolkata

Front page of morning newspapers are basically devoted to most important news of yesterday. But things are changing. Already companies are capturing full page advertisement of all leading dailies and news start from 3rd page. So I named these first pages as Pre First Pages... but surprisingly the Front news page of a leading Hindi Daily of Kolkata "SANMARG" has published 9 advertisements. Interesting to see, 6 out of 9 advertisements belong to Jewellery companies. They are :


1. Indian Gem and Jewellery
2. MB Jewllers
3. Nemichand Bamalwa
4. Mahabir Danwar Jewellers
5. Diwansons, and
6. Imperial


2 of such advertisements are featuring highly paid divas.... Imperial is advertised by none other than Dia Mirza. After marriage she is looked like an Indian married woman wearing costly jewellery. On the other hand Indian Gem and Jewellery has re availed services of "Izabelle Leite" Both of them are beautiful and giving impact on viewers. Especially for Indian Gem and Jewellery .... if Esabelle has been hired again that means she has already given impact on the business. She has been seeing on advertisements of Indian Gem and Jewellery for last one year.


Now.. news paper.... either the capacity of Jewellery business have gone big so that they are affording front page news on Sanmarg or the business of Hindi News paper is in danger or they are out of news due to which the front page is covered with School, Sarees , Mattreses and jewellery advertisements on 29 November 2015 issue.


One thing I want to comment upon the advertisement , the face of Dia Mirza is not appropriate. It seems that she was slapped and then she was told to face camera. She looks astonished while Isabelle looks smiley and it seems that she is listening somebody's question and about to comment after that.


MB Jeweller's advertising agent has hired some aunty ... I do not know who is she...


Nemichand as usual traditional advertisement. A long term partner of front page of Sanmarg. Their advertisements were always being featured on front page on Sunday edition.

Good for a consumer of SHOT perfume to assess how much perfume has been used. The bottles are transparent unlike many other branded Deodrants. Sometimes it happens that we exhaust deodrants without expected quantity of use. SHOT also advertises that bottles are not filled up with mere gas rather it contains actual final product to be used by consumers.

Surprisingly THIN Amazingly Hot - Macroman and Macrowoman

Winter in India has set in, so obviously the sale of woollen garments have to rise. In today's news papers Macroworld published an advertisement in which a couple is shown in an intimate position but they are not nude... they are wearing Macroman and Macrowoman "WONDER THERMAL". The man is about to kiss the lady and one of lady's leg lies on the thigh of the lad.


 Its quite possible that the advertisement might not have attracted attention of readers but seeing a young couple lying on the same sofa in a lovable position must raise curiosity. One could possibly think that the advertisement belong to a Condom or some tonic or some sexual tablet but its clothes.


If a man lies on a woman , they may not need any cloth even in cold or they may need light clothes for some preliminary activities before action. Perhaps advertiser has a message that , such preliminary activities could be possible in winter clothes in cold weather and couple do not need light clothes. Just like casual clothes, Macroman and Macrowoman could be used.


Advertisements related to intimate scenes are very successful in drawing attention of people. Its not creativity rather taking help of sex strategy to make advertisement . The advertisement does not indicate comment on quality. The comment " Amazingly Hot" seems to be comment on the hot scene .


Ultimately , in long run, quality matters.

Schmitten luxury chocolates

In today's TOI (15 Nov 2015), saw an interesting advertisement that  Priyanka Chopra has put one corner of chocolate bar between . More interestingly, her whole body appears to be splashed with liquid chocolate. Curious by such a nice photos , I read and saw full advertisement. My observations are :




The advertisement is of a  new chocolate " Schmitten ". Firstly, I thought it may be a surname of some gentleman like "Cadbury" but at last I opened online dictionary and found " a scary game where everyone disappears" ..Surprised by the meaning.... so I checked further......then I found the relevant meaning as Schmitten is something which relates to teenagers. . Perhaps the word might appear fancy to the person who gave the name. If the word Schmitten is related to teens ... then why the advertisement indicates to invite "Corporate gifting inquiries" But , indeed, the word will "Schmitten" will attract people who love chocolate.




Another interesting thing.... for the first time.... I saw " luxury chocolates" ... what is "luxury" in chocolate. Does the company want to send a message that Chocolate is costly and too dear to be afforded by common people ? The answer is yes ...

  • Special combo big 465 gm the price is INR 599 and
  • Special mini combo the quoted price is INR 299 for 205 gm
So get ready to gift "luxuy chocolates" to your girl friend, relatives and other chocolates. Girl friends will never complain as people would gear up to come out of brands like Dairy Milk, Silk, Kit Kat, Milky bar , Celebrations, 5 star .....


Now Taste............. I have not tasted .........but certainly I will test and update my feedback on the blog...because it is very important that taste should be good otherwise the brand will be thrown out like other brands of Nestle, Amul, and other which tried their fate in India but did not compete against the brand Cadbury strongly. Dairly Milk and Silk are the premier brand of chocolates in India and its just like brand "Colgate" to other toothpaste which manage to sell but does not appear to be real competitor of Colgate.


The brand has to engrave roots in India .they have selected Priyanka Chopra as their Ad Diva with heading " Charm your loved ones by gifting Schmitten Luxury Chocolates and make every occasion delectably special " . Mentioning the word "Luxury" indicates...... the company does not want to sell its products at general stores rather the chocolates shall be available at online stores and costly gift shop.

Funny AD of Cricbuzz

Enjoyed a new TV advertisement of Cricbuzz.com while watching 1st test between India and South Africa. A young man went to see a girl and his family with his father. The girl's father asked what did you find in his girl but the boy was busy in his mobile and probably looking at cric buzz. He replied "fine leg". The embarrassment and surprise was visible on everybody's face but the boy realised late what he told. The girl was just starts to cover her legs... finny.. fun. but the ad does not indicate available information are avaialabe.

Wear what Miss Indias are Wearing - Good Stratetgy by Big Bazaar

Slowly and gradually , shopping @ Big Bazaar was being considered as a hub for middle and lower middle class families. In order to change the attitude of people, today the company has published two back to back advertisements in The Times of India edition for the promotion of Durga Puja and Deepawali sales. In the first advertisement of "Calcutta Times" there is an ad featuring Katrina Kaif in Floral Dress @ 899 and in the second advertisement three ladies are wearing Salwar Suits and its written in big letters " Wear what Miss Indias  are Wearing " .. I have to verify if such ladies are miss Indias or they are only normal ad divas. But certainly the advertisement will start to change the perception of buying people that Big Bazaar is no longer a hub for middle class purchase, one can buy latest fashionable clothes at low prices...


If Katrina Kaif says through a TV advertisement, it would be more effective...

The project was completed in collaboration with Tata Power Solar (TPS) .

The most interesting part is , the car is enabled to store solar energy even without direct access to sunlight. The car is manufactured at one tenth of the cost of similar car invented in the other parts of the world.


The car is known as SERVe  and is gearing up to enter in the South African Solar (Sasol) Challenge, 2016 , an eight day endurance event covering 12,374.5 km and powered only by the Sun, the winner determined by distance covered.

The advertisement highlights " prevention of bacterial growth , fungal infection and freedom from bad odor " . Indeed these are the three most common problems for the lower private parts of the women. It also suggest how to use - " Pour a small amount on your palm wash external feminine area, rinse thoroughly, Use daily any number of times as an when you want to feel fresh " So this product claims freshness whenever you ladies want :):) Bosom is also the feminine part but seeing the advertisement , it seems to be the used on the outer part of the vagina not for boobs. The advertisement has left this obvious thinking on women and women understand women talks without say.


Also the advertisement claims " Effectivity checked and confirmed by FDA approved laboratory" so what does it mean? I assume  -

- FDA laboratory must be some high profile laboratory
- The laboratory must have used the product on a number women who were infected with fungi infection now and then
- The bad smell ( French think its a good smell ) must have been removed after its use from vagina and some independent nose have smelt and validated :) :)

Background song -- " Khud se roob roo " means self actualisation ... so do we need a Pan Masala for Self Actualisation ??. The advertisement is very effective and just touches the heart , so one more Pan Masala will also be famous and will start to eat the teeths of millions !!

Manufacturing counterfeit products is an example of  Conversion of a Mankind in to Animals. Counterfeit products lack quality due to which it affects the health of  a large number of population. The network of counterfeits is so effective that hardly anybody can differentiate between a good product and a counterfeit. Mostly counterfeits are available in consumer goods like soap, cream, shampoos and beauty  care products. Even purchasing from big super markets is not safe. Being one of the largest PSU bodies of India, Railways do not advertise in TV like other commercials. What does authorities think >>> everybody knows Railways so why should we advertise !!! However still people may be benefited and Railways may be benefitted !!

For 6 th 7 th and 8th May 2015, Indians have opportunity to purchase products at much discounted rate !! Now a days housewives , grandpas are asking what is this " What a deal What a deal " ad watching IPL matches. Then young member of the family says its on internet ... goods are sold at 30 to 40 % deep discount !! Young man open their laptop and shows ovens, pans, sarees, utensils, coats etc at much discounted rate ... this is watt a deal .......... Connecting Amazon new advertisement campaign, discounted sale campaign with IPL is a strategy which Facebook could not do. But Snapdeal was smart enough to capitalise IPL matches to sell their products. Aged people is dancing , Sardarji is dancing, Housewives of Tamil Nadu are dancing in the ad of Amazon, people must ask ,what they have got so they are happy , so users of internet have to tell them .... look goods are available at cheapest rates........... thats why these dancing people across Indian are dancing in happiness.This is what advertisement means.......... time to capitalise by online sellers..... why Ebay has not jumped in ......perhaps busy in earning commission only , but it could also wet its beak !!

Engagrow - A new product for a child's health

Saw an advertisement of "Enfagrow" , a health nutrition product for children. The advertisement was giving itself A+ and claims  " Concentration " , " Memory" and "Problem Solving". The ad contains a statement " Scientifically designed by Mead Johnson , new Enfagrow A+ has the highest DHA for supporting brain development of your child"


I am a common man with an average IQ , I have a few questions :


1. What is DHA ? I do not know DHA. Even if I know DHA , how could I believe that its higher content will be good for my child. I heard that almonds and grams are good for child's health. If I feed my child with Sattu or Milk ,it would be good. Why should I incur expenses on DHA. The advertisement lacks clarity. May be its a good health product , but a simple advertisement may be introductory but not consumer informative. A consumer shall be in dark about DHA.


2. Do really a health product is helpful in " Concentration, Memory and Problem solving " ....


3. who is Mead Johnson in India ?
4. What is health department of India doing for these advertisements.


when we get answers for these questions , there would be no hasitation to consume this product. Reading slogans like " Unlock your child's amazing potential to learn" .... will directly hit the brains of parents whose children are average to below average in studies . Majority of parents are not satisfied with their child's education and marks, so they are the direct consumers of these products.

Bank of India's new advertisement on home loans - Kishton se rishta jodo... kiraya to paraya hota hai. public sector banks are now availing services of professional advertising agencies. The advertisement's slogan perfectly fits the need of young couples who dream for a new house while living apart from parents and home town. The ad will help the business of other banks also;) it's not unique for bank of India. 

Amul undergarments advertisement

Amul undergarments company always feature advertisement with cheap sexuality elements. One of their advertisements was banned in which a woman getting orgasm while washing underwear of her husbands on the bank of a pond.




Yesterday, I saw an ad in TV in which a middle class teenager trying to see the exercise of a matured man from her roof top. The girl was trying to see (eavesdropping ) the man in undergarments but one after another some obstruction comes in between the man and the girl. Star Sports is featuring an advertisement of India Vs Pakistan Match ....


A young stripling of Karachi, Pakistan in 1992 is watching India Vs Pakistan Match 1992 World cup with his father keeping fire crackers in his hands with a hope that Pakistan would beat India. Great Chance to enjoy fire crackers !! The clipping shown was Jumping of Javed Miandad on the ground after a rift with Kiran More. After this , Javed Miandad was bowled out by Srinath's Yorker. His Hope went in to  vain...his fire crackers were kept as it is...


Come 1996, again the grown up young man holds unused crackers in his hands wishing Pakistan would win over India in the quarter final happened in Bangalore of 96 world cup , the ad shows that Venkatesh Prasad bowled Aamir Sohail and the Karachi inhabitant's wishes washed away. Again his fire crackers remained un used.... the background music is featuring a kawwalli ..Mauka Mauka ...


Again in 1999, his hope rose... but in TV Wasim Akram got out... in 2003.. again he watched the match with his pregnant wife.... but Pakistan lost....


Lastly in 2011 world , the young man is now a matured serious man but keeping his hopes alive, his fire crackers are still saved and now collected by his kid.. but Alas!! Pakistan again lost in 2011 world cup semi final . The kid got embarrassed and broke a rocket in his hand... kid's mother ...got up in disappointment.... the song ...still continues.... Mauka Mauka......


The advertisement is funny but a good one to publicise India vs Pakistan both team 's first world cup match in 2015.

The advertisement should be meant to introduce company’s products, but looking at the ad … different assumptions and observations can be enumerated:

The Times of India is one of the most trusted newspapers. Kids were staring at the ad published on the front page…. they could not divert their vision from the woman in the picture. Indian advertising creators are following a trend…… they just connect their advertisement with a beautiful naked or semi naked girls. The lady could be a bombshell for a condom advertisement or energy capsules……. But what they have done ???
