Model of Indian Gem & Jewellery

In Kolkata and Howrah Streets , Indian Gem & Jewellery Creation Private Limited has set up big posters / hoardings showing advertisements of its Jewel Products. The model hired by the advertiser is attractive and appeals to viewers. I have seen three hoardings and all of them are set up at strategic locations. Once you look at the advertisement , it captivates everybody.


They hired Aditi Rao Hydari sometimes back , but the new model is better than her. On internet the details of such model is not available.


In total .. the campaign looks good as Jewellery is looked good on the model. Good time for Kolkata firm !!

Advertisement of MUNCH Chocolate through Sushant Singh Rajput

Promise , Forhans' , Cibaca, Close up , Babool . Vicco and Pepsodent all tried but could not come near to Colgate !! Some of them died but could not beat brand Colgate in any region. Colgate still a market leader !!


Many brands of briefcases came but VIP is still going on strongly !!


Nestle , Amul , Parle Tried their maximum but could not match the level of sales by Cadbury's.


New advertisement of Munch is being telecast in TV Channels. My observations on advertisement -


1. Perhaps Sushant was the wrong choice - not looked as college student. Masti like a college boy does not look good on him. He is good for sober acting


2. Advertisement does not focus on taste and chocolate rather it focus on how Sushant will do well before Jury members to judge Dance and Song competition. Viewers , who admire Sushant (including myself) feel tensed once he was ousted from the competition due to lack of good performance, people do not think about the product for which advertisement is flashed


3. Lyrics should come easily on the tongue of Viewers !! Surprisingly the lines are shown through Caption !!


Objective of advertisement does not come properly. Nestle must think on 4 Ps of Kotler again !!

TITAN -Hard days ahead

I remember days ,TITAN used to telecast its newly launched stylish designed watches advertisements , naming TITAN QUARTZ , during CHITRAHAAR break , Saturday Movie interval in Doordarshan with a different musical theme. The music, quality of watches, designs were neither heard , nor seen by Indians. We used to know only HMT, Citizen watches common. No middle class Indian knew about luxury in watches. The advertisement just grabbed Indian Market in a month and completely outweigh HMT. It bowled out HMT in 3-4 years although Titan Watches were running through batteries, people got inclined to designs and started to leave HMT. Old people still talks about the quality of Citizen, Casio and HMT. No doubt , quality of Titan was and is still good. Titan hired a number of engineers of HMT  and left HMT on its dwindling future. HMT tried to bounce back but it could not. Now watches of HMT are still running but they are now antique items.


I am not getting emotional, its the story of people going on with changing times.


But now, challenges are ahead for Titan. People are now seeing Titan as old fashioned. Young Indians have been seeing Titan watches since their childhood on the wrists of father, uncles , mother ,aunt and others. They have been using either Titan or Timex. But now .... again time has changed. Brands like Fast track , Tissot, Swiss, Rado, Tommy Hilfiger , Rosra, Omega, DKNY, Emporio Armani,  Casio and many other international brands.


Overthis , people are now seeing time through their mobile phones !!


Titan has to relaunch a new brand or has to come out strongly ... may be its sales figures are rising in PNL but I am not seeing people in the showrooms of Titans and purchasing Titan watches

Zandu Balm over Zandu's Chyavanprash

A few days back, I asked in a grocery shop .. do you have Zandu's Chyavanprash ? He was surprised and questioned me back , Do Zandu makes Chyavanprash too ?


This was a surprising question !! For all the years , Zandu was known for two of its products - Chyavanprash and Kesri Jeevan and later on it developed the marked for Zandu Balm.


Zandu Balm is more conducive to speak !! and in Kolkata some civilised people who does not want to say" Gandu" they speak the word Zandu and quite more often Zandu Balm. Gandu is an abusive remark and very famous in north India. I think we Indians can make Gandu more famous and after some years we may listen in English movies and easily it can replace the F@@@ word.


In last four years , Zandu Balm is more famous thanks to Malaika Arora's item song in the movie Dabangg. Zandu Pharmaceuticals got so happy that it made her brand ambassador and offered TV commercial also. Obviously the song made Zandu Pharmaceuticals more famous than ever. Cross Promotion between Malaika and Zandu Pharmaceuticals !!!

Wynk Music - Boring Advertisement

The advertisement of Wynk Music is a boring advertisement, Nothing it contains !! Its no where near between the advertisement of Gaana.com . It must be changed to some contemporary advetisements.

An Advertisement waiting for an advertisment

A big hoarding at Camac Street ,  one of the most prime locations of Kolkata City for business and shopping, costs a lot to advertiser. Although its a vital and strategic location for all advertisers in Kolkata, it still remains vacant in sluggish market or due to high cost not matched by proper revenue.  A hoarding must generate revenue , otherwise there is no sense in brand building. For a couple of days I am seeing the hoarding waiting for an advertisement, However the contractor / advertising company is also very smart. It does not let the hoarding blank, it has " Advertised well to get it advertised "

Follo - a new portal for bollywood star followers

"FOLLO" - the Pronunciation in India is similar to "Follow". A new website to follow Indian celebrities. You may download apps for your favourite star. Their latest news will be on the portal , public will also do musings on the portal. There will be videos, photographs, past, present and future of Indian Bollywood celebrities. Now people can follow their favourites through individual apps. There are chitchats, galleries, buzz, auctions ( may be for old clothes or anything )


Again , the website has advertised itself through Times of India page. It is offering an iphone for select downloaders of FOLLO app. The slogan is " AB BOLLYWOOD AAP KI MUTHI MEIN". Its focussed way of social networking fully on celebrities like Twitter. It may be big time competitor of Twitter and Facebook.


Interestingly the advertisement is also showing the logos of facebook and twitter .. all the best FOLLO.


In coming days , may be we see such type of apps for corporates and other celebrities !! Follow the Follo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
